From May 22 to 24, 2025, a group of 20 students and 2 staff members from The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) participated in a three-day study tour in Guangzhou, organized by the Resource Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies and Experiential Learning (RCISEL).
The tour began with visits to key cultural landmarks, including the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall and the Cantonese Opera Art Museum, providing insights into Lingnan architecture and local heritage. Participants enjoyed panoramic views from the Canton Tower. At Sun Yat-sen University, the group engaged in a cross-disciplinary teaching exchange and explored the university’s History Museum. They also visited an affiliated middle school for classroom observations and discussions on interdisciplinary curriculum integration, culminating in a performance at the Guangzhou Opera House. The trip concluded with visits to the Baietan GBA Art Centre and Shamian Island, allowing for reflections on art, history, and urban development.
This experience broadened students' perspectives on Mainland China's education system, fostering critical reflections on interdisciplinary learning and strengthening ties across the Greater Bay Area (GBA).
