Education Outcomes and Generic Attributes

The HKIEd prepares the students to become caring and committed education professionals with positive dispositions, sound academic knowledge and professional competence for future challenges. The graduates are committed to their personal and professional development and make a difference to the lives of students, the school, the teaching profession and the society.


Education Outcomes - Ideal Graduates

It is our aim that graduates should ideally demonstrate the following attributes under the 4”C”s:

Character
- a set of core value/guiding principles
- the ability to relate to self and others effectively and ethically

Competence as professional
- a solid understanding and command of professional, discipline and general knowledge
- a high level of proficiency in professional practice

Cultivation of wisdom and intellect
- critical and creative thinking and problem solving skills
- responsibility for self-directed learning
- ability to make sound judgment and decisions

Citizenship
- a global perspective characterized by a broad understanding of diverse, social and cultural contexts
- social responsibility in the local and international communities

Generic outcomes represent the kinds of skills, attitudes and dispositions achieved by our graduates as a result of successfully completing their studies at the HKIEd.
