Prof. TSUI, Kwok Tung is Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at The Education University of Hong Kong. Prof TSUI received his Bachelor of Education (First Class Honours), PhD and Certificate in Teacher Education from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He started his career as a special education and secondary school teacher in Hong Kong, and then shifted to teacher education at the Northcote College of Education, where he worked for over 10 years prior to joining the University (the then Hong Kong Institute of Education) in 1994.
Prof. TSUI’s research interests include curriculum leadership, reform and innovation, teacher leadership and effectiveness, and teacher professional development. He has extensive experience in consultancy work and training in the local and international contexts. Prof. TSUI was appointed by the World Bank as an international consultant for two nationwide education projects in Vietnam in 2000 and 2008. He undertook consultancy work for UNESCO Bangkok in 2014 and 2015. In 2017-18 the Education University of Hong Kong was commissioned by the World Bank a consultancy project on Capacity Building for Lead Teacher Training Universities in Vietnam and Prof TSUI was the associate leader of this project. Locally, he has led a training programme for primary school curriculum leaders commissioned by the Education Bureau for more than ten years.
Prof. TSUI also takes an active role in serving the teacher profession and the wider education communities in various capacities. He was appointed by the Education Bureau as member of the Assessment Panel on Curriculum Leadership for the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2013/2014 and as Panel chairman in 2015/2016. He was appointed by the Education Bureau as member of the High-level Advisory Panel of the Chief Executive’s Award for Teaching Excellence in 2021/2022. Currently, he is serving as Independent School Manager of two primary schools in Hong Kong as well as supervisor of a local kindergarten.

Dr. HUANG, Xianhan Yvonne currently serves as an associate professor in the Faculty of Education and Human Development at the Education University of Hong Kong (EDUHK). She earned her undergraduate degree in Chinese Language and Literature and her MPhil in Chinese Language Education from Beijing Normal University. Following four years of teaching in a public high school, she was awarded a PhD fellowship to pursue her doctoral degree at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Subsequently, she held positions at both The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The University of Hong Kong.
Renowned for her contributions to the field of teacher education and Chinese language education, Dr. Huang has a profound commitment to exploring and promoting teachers’ agentic behavior in learning and teaching. Her work has gained international recognition as a leading scholar in the study of teachers’agentic behavior. She has made substantial contributions to a number of top-tier journals, including Computers & Education, Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity and the Arts, Teaching and Teacher Education, Journal of Education for Teaching, Teachers and Teaching, and Thinking Skills and Creativity.
A strong advocate of research-led teaching, Dr. Huang has established herself as an exceptional instructor. Notably, she was the founding designer and coordinator of the first International Baccalaureate-authorized Postgraduate Diploma of Education Programme, specifically designed for training primary school L2 Chinese teachers. Her exemplary teaching efforts have been recognized with several awards, including the National Quality Online Open Course Award, the National First-Class Undergraduate Online Course Award, and the Faculty Outstanding Teaching Award (as Team Leader).
In addition to her teaching and research commitments, Dr. Huang holds many editorial positions, serving as an associate editor for Cogent Education and Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, a review editor for Frontiers in Psychology, and a reviewer for over twenty international peer-reviewed journals.

Dr. KONG Suet-yee, Suria is an experienced educator focusing on teacher professional development in higher education, governmental institutions, and frontline school settings. Currently severing at the Education University of Hong Kong, she has taken on various administrative roles, including Associate Co-Director of the Academy for Educational Development and Innovation, Head of the Liaison and Coordination Section in the Office of the President, Associate Director of the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching, Honorary Special Advisor of the Centre for Religious and Spirituality Education, and Senior Lecturer and the Programme Leader for the Master of Arts in Digital Learning and Technology in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Concurrently, Dr. KONG holds the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Previously, as a Senior School Development Officer in the Education Bureau, Dr. KONG was instrumental in developing school-based curricula, particularly in General Studies and Science Education for primary education. Her expertise spans various areas, including Territory Education with a focus on STEAM Education, Health Education and Promotion, Science Inquiry, Environmental Education, Interdisciplinary Curricular Approaches, Self-Directed Learning, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Literacy. Dr. KONG has made significant contributions to teacher professional development through her active involvement in numerous initiatives. She has been actively engaged in teaching the annual Training Course for the new PSMCD organised by the Kindergarten and Primary Section of the Education Bureau. In addition, she has provided training to General Studies panel heads through diverse learning communities and conducted workshops on STEAM education and science inquiry for schools. Dr. KONG has been invited as a speaker, competition adjudicator, and academic consultant to various Science and Technology educational events. Furthermore, she has facilitated frontline teachers in disseminating exemplary curricular initiatives by presenting at different international education conferences. Her contributions also extend to academic channels, including the authorship of academic book chapters, journal papers, participation in international conference round-table meetings, writing online articles, and authoring Science textbooks. Throughout her extensive career, Dr. KONG has played a pivotal role in nurturing a cadre of curriculum leaders for Hong Kong. Her unwavering dedication to advancing teacher professional development and curriculum enhancement has had a lasting impact on the education landscape.

Dr. LEUNG, Ka Wai holds dual master degrees from the Chinese University of HK in the field of Educational Psychology and the University of HK for Social Science Studies in Family Therapy respectively. She also gained a Specialist degree at the University of Virginia which focused in the area of Special Education and completed her Doctor of Education in the Chinese University of HK with her research interest in Lewinian Topological Psychology and the identification process of autistic adolescents and their mothers. Her research interests are in the areas of differentiation of instruction for academically diverse learners including teacher attitudes and practices related to academic diversity, and the change process in schools moving toward more academically responsive classrooms.

Dr. YIP, Yam Wing Stephen is now the Director (Schools) of the “CLAP@JC” project under the Research and Development Office, the Education University of Hong Kong. From 2016-20, he was a Senior Lecturer II at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Before joining the university, he was the Chief Executive of the Curriculum Development Institute (CDI), (also titled as Principal Assistant Secretary (Curriculum Development)) of the Education Bureau, EDB in the HKSAR Government (2013-16), taking the responsibility of curriculum development in Hong Kong primary and secondary schools as well as kindergartens. Throughout the serving period in CDI since 2002, Dr. YIP, as the Chief Curriculum Development Officer and as the head of CDI, participated in a number of leadership roles to promote and review key policies related to whole person development, Life-wide Learning (LWL), Textbook Review, School Library services and the New Senior Secondary curriculum. He led the formulation of the recent curriculum reform impetus, namely the ‘Learning to Learn 2.0+’ that advocates the consolidation and deepening of the previous ‘Learning to Learn’ reform as well as the promotion of STEM education, Language across the curriculum, values education (including Basic Law Education) and e-learning in schools.
Dr. YIP worked as a secondary teacher and as a school advisor in several local education authorities in London, United Kingdom (UK) for many years. His research publication, 'Getting Results: Study Support in Tower Hamlets' (1997), was recognized as a seminal literature to shape the national policy on Study Support and Out-of-school Hours Learning in the UK Government from mid-1990s to early 2000s. As the founding member, he participated in the National Evaluation of Study Support which was led by Professor John MacBeath from the University of Cambridge, funded by the Prince’s Trust and subsequently by the Department for Education and Employment, UK.
Dr. YIP’s main research interest is experiential learning (including community service) in schools, of which it is called 'Life-wide Learning' or 'Other Learning Experiences' (OLE) in Hong Kong contexts and he published many influential articles promoting quality practices of OLE for whole person development. He was a part-time lecturer of Master of Arts (MA) programme in Student Activities at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (2007-13), teaching the module of 'Learning profiles and portfolios for whole person development' and gained awards for his outstanding teaching. He was elected by “Chinese Today” magazine to be the “Outstanding Figure 2023” to recognize his work in education and cultural inheritance.
Dr. YIP was the Co-director of the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) (2019-2024). Dr. YIP’s teaching specializes in ‘Curriculum and Assessment’, ‘Issues and Trends of Curriculum Development’, ‘Teacher Leadership’, ‘Life-wide Learning’, as well as ‘Curriculum Leadership’ and Knowledge Management in Schools (incl. Lesson Study)’ at various levels, such as Masters’ degree, P.G.D.E. and Continuing Professional Development. Recent Publication includes ‘Moral and Life Education in Greater China’ (Routledge, 2021). Dr. YIP gained the Faculty Teaching Award (2018-19) and Top 10% Teaching Awards (2018-19) (2019-20). Recently, he is the panel chair of the EDB’s Outstanding Teaching Award for Moral Education (2017-24).
He obtained his PhD in education and MEd (Research route) degree from the University of Cambridge. He also has a joint honours degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London and was awarded Associateship of Royal College of Science. He is a member of the UNESCO-UNEVOC Network.

Dr. ZHU, Jinxin is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the Faculty of Education & Human Development at The Education University of Hong Kong. Before this, he worked as a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Education Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University, a manager at the Assessment Technology & Research Division in the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority, a post-doctoral fellow at Assessment Research Centre at EdUHK, and a mathematics teacher at Fuyong Secondary School in Shenzhen, Guangdong, Mainland China. His research focuses on digital assessment and learning, aiming to reduce teachers’ workload with digital tools allowing them to have more time and energy to help students to take an active role in the assessment and feedback process and become self-directed learners and thereby lifelong learners.

Dr. ZHANG, Yuefeng Ellen is currently an Assistant Professor of teaching of Department of Curriculum and Instruction in The Education University of Hong Kong, Vice President of Hong Kong Society of Small Class Teaching, and a Council member of The World Association of Lesson Study. She is also serving as Independent School Manager of a primary school in Hong Kong. Her main research interests include curriculum leadership, effective learning and teaching, teacher professional development and positive education and mindfulness. She has led many school-support projects which aimed to enhance teaching and learning, promote teacher professional development and develop schools, such as Learning Study projects and learning circles, in Hong Kong schools and in mainland China. She is currently teaching courses on effective learning & teaching and positive education for pre-service and in-service teacher programs in Hong Kong. She has taught many school leader/teacher training programmes in the area of effective learning and teaching in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Taiwan, Sweden, Singapore, Indonesia, Austria, Italy, Kazakhstan and Poland.
