Outstanding Performance in Administrative Services – Individual Award

Ms LEE Ching Jane
Executive Officer I, Department of Social Sciences

For more than 12 years, Ms Jane Lee has been the core administrative support person in the academic departments for which she works. During the period, the department and the School/Faculty have undergone a number of restructures and reforms.  In adapting to the new environment she has accepted new responsibilities and performed duties above and beyond what is normally expected, sometimes under very difficult situations.

As a capable and experienced executive, Ms Lee demonstrates extensive knowledge and competence in a wide array of work areas. Her strong ability of coordination has enabled her department to meet all deadlines for documentation.

Ms Lee commands great respect from peers, co-workers, supervisors and students, who see her as the problem solver for her department, and an able mediator who resolves miscommunication between colleagues within and outside of the department.

She is the mentor for the administrative and support staff in her department, generously sharing her personal knowledge and skills to help new colleagues integrate into the work environment. Her contributions include suggestions and development of new work methods to increase productivity and efficiency.

Ms Lee is hard working and professional.  In a demanding and challenging position, she demonstrates intelligence, good will and a positive attitude. Her work ethic sets an example for her colleagues, administrative and academics alike.

Ms Lee’s devotion and achievements were recognised with her promotion from Executive Officer II to Executive Officer I last July.
