Outstanding Performance in Administrative Services – Individual Award

Ms YEON Yuk Mei Angie
Counsellor, Student Affairs Office

Ms Yeon performs a wide range of duties, including counseling and providing career services to students, along with providing support services to international and mainland students. From 2005 to 2011, she was also Warden of the Jockey Club Student Quarters.

In her role as Counsellor, Ms Yeon is not only able to deliver professional counseling to students, but she also exhibits her initiative through active participation in various student affairs projects. One example that demonstrates how she goes “above and beyond” is her collaboration with academic staff at the Institute in a study of sexual harassment funded by the Equal Opportunities Commission.

In her role as Warden, Ms Yeon led by example. She played a significant role in promoting Hall Life Education, and many students and alumni remember her presence as an indispensable and memorable part of their campus lives. Ms Yeon’s passion and devotion to her role as Warden made the Jockey Club Student Quarters at times the most popular student hall at the Institute.

According to one alumnus, Ms Yeon’s “duty never terminates after a student’s graduation and she often gives us guidance and support whenever we are emotionally suffering from job pressure or unsure of our career paths”.
