Professor WANG Wen Chung
Chair Professor of Educational and Psychological Measurement and
Director of the Assessment Research Centre

Professor Wang’s research focuses on educational and psychological measurement, covering both theoretical and applied issues. It has made a great contribution to both regional and international academic societies.

Since joining the Institute in 2008, Professor Wang has received grants from the General Research Fund three times, and once from the Public Policy Research (PPR) Fund, for a total amount of approximately HK$2.5 million. His PPR funded project on innovative methodology provides public policy makers and researchers with a ready-to-implement, state-of-the-art technique for better data analysis. From 2009 to 2011 he published more than 20 high-quality articles in refereed journals.

As Director of the Assessment Research Centre, Professor Wang has made great progress on and a highly significant contribution to the community in the field of measurement and assessment. Under his directorship, the Centre has built up strong working relationships with local and international agencies in and outside of academia. Professor Wang regularly provides research consultation on methodological issues to the Institute staff. He is keen to give advice to novice staff in their preparation of research proposals and publications.
