Welcome to the Department of Asian and Policy Studies

Established in September 2012. the mission of the Department of Asian and Policy Studies is to bridge knowledge and practice for the betterment of people’s life and their communities. We achieve this mission through research, services, and teaching focused on critical issues in policy and governance in the Greater China region.

Our research concentrates on understanding and improving the performance of governmental, non-governmental, and business organizations in the region.

In the area of services, our faculty members actively engage with professionals as well as the broader community in understanding and addressing issues of common concern.

Our teaching programs aim to equip students with robust analytic and decision-making skills to understand economic, political, social and policy issues from a variety of intellectual perspectives. Starting with Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes in Greater China Studies, it is preparing to launch a range of programmes in Public Policy and Governance.  The Department currently offers the following programmes: 

l      Bachelor of Social Science Education (Hons) (Greater China Studies)
l      Second Major in Greater China Studies in the BEd programme 
l      Master of Social Science Education (Greater China Studies) 
l      Master of Public Policy and Governance
