Dr. Ye Huiyan

Research Assistant Professor

Profile

Dr. Ye is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), Hong Kong SAR. She obtained her Ph.D. in Education from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), specializing in technology-enhanced mathematics education. She also holds an M.Phil. in Mathematics Education from East China Normal University and a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (Teacher Education) from South China Normal University. Prior to joining EdUHK, she served as a postdoctoral fellow at CUHK.

Dr. Ye’s research focuses on technology-enhanced mathematics teaching and learning, with a particular emphasis on programming-based mathematical problem-solving and the integration of AI literacy in K–12 mathematics education. Additionally, she actively contributes to research in mathematics teacher education and professional development. Her work has been published in leading SSCI-indexed journals in mathematics education, educational technology, and STEM education, such as the International Journal of STEM Education (Q1, IF=8.0), Journal of Educational Computing Research (Q1, IF=4.9), Journal of Computer Assisted Learning (Q1, IF=4.6), and ZDM-Mathematics Education (Q1, IF=2.4).

Dr. Ye’s academic and research journey in mathematics education has afforded her extensive exposure to diverse educational systems, pedagogical philosophies, and cultural contexts. Inspired by Papert’s constructionism, she has long been dedicated to exploring multifaceted dimensions of mathematics education—spanning student learning, teaching practices, and teacher professional development—within the evolving context of technology integration in K-12 mathematics education.
