Event Highlights: MIT Alumni Gathering 2026
The Mathematics and Information Technology (MIT) Department successfully held its Alumni Gathering on 17 April 2026, bringing together alumni, students, and MIT members for an evening filled with meaningful exchanges, warm reconnections, and a strong sense of community.
One of the highlights of the gathering was the active participation of many MIT teachers, who engaged in in-depth conversations with students and alumni throughout the evening. MIT members in attendance included Dr Sun Daner, Dr Cheng Kwok Shing Gary, Dr Wang Yue, Dr So Chi Fuk Henry, Dr Chan Wing Sum, Dr Cheng Kell Hiu Fai, Mr Chui Hin Leung Mike, Dr Cheung Ho Yin Haoran, and Dr Wang Dichen. Several MIT teachers also took the stage to share heartfelt reflections drawn from their teaching journeys and professional experiences, fostering genuine dialogue and deeper connections between teachers and students.
The event was further enriched by a special guitar and singing performance by Mr Chui Ka Shing, Chairman of the MIT Mathematics Education Alumni Association, which created a relaxed and heartwarming atmosphere. He also took the opportunity to share updates on the latest developments of the association. In addition, alumna Annie Zhang also shared her personal learning journey and career development experiences at MIT, further strengthening the bond among alumni, students, and the Department.
More than a reunion, the Alumni Gathering served as a meaningful occasion to reinforce the cohesion of the MIT community and to celebrate the enduring and valued relationships between teachers and students.
