Professor Cai Huiying from Jiangnan University Wraps Up Fruitful Tin Ka Ping Scholar Exchange at EdUHK

The ten-day Tin Ka Ping Foundation Visiting Scholar Exchange Programme successfully concluded yesterday. At the invitation of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), Professor Cai Huiying from the Department of Educational Technology, School of Humanities at Jiangnan University, visited from October 1 to October 10, 2025, engaging in a series of productive academic exchanges and collaborative activities, with highly fruitful outcomes.

During her stay, Professor Cai held in-depth and extensive discussions with faculty members of the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at EdUHK. The visit began with a welcome session hosted by Department Head Dr. Ling Man Ho and Associate Head Dr. Sun Daner, which included an introduction to the department's research profile and a facility tour, laying a solid foundation for subsequent collaboration.

A key focus of the visit was advancing substantive research cooperation. Professor Cai engaged in intensive discussions with Dr. Sun and his team on several cutting-edge educational technology topics, concentrating especially on learning analytics applications for collaborative problem-solving in STEM education, as well as theories and practices of artificial intelligence in empowering teacher professional development. The two teams successfully identified two to three key collaborative directions.

One of the highlights of the visit was two high-quality academic sessions led by Professor Cai for EdUHK faculty and students: a workshop on "Learning Analytics Methods and Practical Applications for Collaborative Problem Solving in STEM Education" and a seminar on "Theories and Practices of Artificial Intelligence Empowering Teacher Professional Development." Both events attracted numerous participants, sparking lively discussions and inspiring new research ideas, and were widely praised.

In addition, Professor Cai visited the Tin Ka Ping Foundation, where she met with the Foundation's Chief Executive Mr David Dai and Vice Chief Executive Mr Siu Hoi-ting. During the meeting, she expressed her sincere gratitude for the Foundation's ongoing support for academic exchanges between Mainland China and Hong Kong and discussed future cooperation prospects.

Associate Head Dr. Sun at EdUHK, remarked, "Professor Cai's visit has been highly constructive. Her professional insights offered valuable perspectives for our ongoing AI in education technology projects. We very much look forward to working closely with the team from Jiangnan University to jointly advance research and innovation in the field of educational technology."

In reflecting on her visit, Professor Cai Huiying said, "The schedule has been both substantial and efficient. I am deeply impressed by the warmth and collaborative spirit at EdUHK. Through in-depth, face-to-face exchanges, we have not only clarified our cooperation path but also built strong academic connections. I am very confident about our upcoming joint research and publications."

This successful visit has not only strengthened academic ties between Jiangnan University and EdUHK but has also established a solid bridge for collaboration, laying a strong foundation for future joint talent development and high-level research outputs in the field of educational technology.
