A seminar was successfully held on 13/6/2026 at the Tai Po campus of The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), jointly organized by the Northcote College of Education Past Students’ Association and the EdUHK Mathematics Education Alumni Association. The event attracted 56 participants, including frontline teachers from secondary schools, primary schools, and kindergartens, with the majority being alumni. We were honored to have Mr. Leung Tsz Wing, MH, Member of the Legislative Council, as the officiating guest, whose presence added significance to the occasion.

The seminar featured three distinguished speakers—Dr. Koo Hok Chun, Dennis, Mr. Chui Ka Shing, Daniel, and Miss Lin Qiu Tong, Ada—who delivered insightful presentations tracing the development of Hong Kong’s primary mathematics curriculum over the past three decades. Their talks highlighted the transition from the Target-Oriented Curriculum (TOC) to the adoption of mathematical modeling, and more recently, the integration of artificial intelligence to support diverse student learning needs. This comprehensive overview allowed participants to reflect on the evolution of curriculum design and its implications for teaching practice.

The event not only provided valuable professional exchange but also strengthened alumni connections, reaffirming EdUHK’s role in advancing mathematics education in Hong Kong.
