Programme Structure

The MA(CBAE) is a 24 credit points (cps) programme comprising 6 core courses (18 cps), and 2 elective courses (6 cps). Students normally take one to two years to complete the programme. They need to attend classes which may be held in the evening/daytime on weekdays, Saturdays, Sundays, and/or during long holidays at the Tai Po Campus, Tseung Kwan O Study Centre and/or satellite study center near Kowloon Tong as decided by the Institute.

  • Aesthetics and Community Arts Education
  • Participatory Arts and Education
  • Pedagogy of Community-based Arts
  • Public Arts and Social Practice in Education

Elective Courses (6 cps)

Elective Courses offered annually

  • New Media in Community Arts Education            or
    Seminars in Cultural Ecology and Arts Dissemination*

Elective Courses offered on alternate years

  • Practice-based Research           or
    Arts Management in Hong Kong*

*Course delivered in collaboration with the EdUHK Master of Arts in Music Education [MA(ME)], and offered only upon availability from MA(ME).
