Cambridge scholar spoke on "Education
as Dialogue"
On 19 October 2005, Professor Robin Alexander, an internationally renowned
scholar from the University of Cambridge, gave a public lecture at HKIEd.
He examined the impact of globalisation on the varied dynamics of today's
education, contrasting generic skills vis-a-vis established knowledge while
emphasising the importance of teachers-students dialogue. Professor Alexander
raised a most important issue for the audience to reflect on - "What
kind of a future do we want for our children, and for their children?"
