The speakers enlightened their audience with their wisdom
and deeds. For instance, Dr Man Si-wai is a firm believer of environmental
protection who puts her convictions into action. Having listened to her
convincing speech, some staff started to learn organic farming, on the
weekend immediately following Dr Man's talk. Mr Chau Hing-wah and Ms Susanna
Siu gave the participants a deeper understanding of Hong Kong's historical
development, through their interesting presentations of local cultural
and historical constructions. Refusing to indulge himself in self-pity,
Mr Char Shik-ngor recounted with a touch of black humour and passion his
very moving saga fighting for patients' rights. The famous Hong Kong painter,
Mr Hon Chi-fun, narrated his fifty-year journey on painting. By employing
the use of circles in his paintings, Mr Hon subtly led his viewers into
exploring the innermost complexity of delicate human feelings. His aura
of confidence naturally commanded respect among the audience.......
Many of the participants considered the "cultural feasts"
to be the greatest enjoyment, which nourished their minds and souls,
impacting on them and leading them to revisit their views about life,
their spiritual aspirations and educational ideals. |
