| Yuen-kay was brought up in a loving and caring family.
Her commitment to social service, since being in primary school, is largely
attributed to the influence of her grandmother and mother. She now has
ten years of solid experience in social service, which has brought her
immense satisfaction. Her exposure to the less privileged motivates Yuen-kay
to be positive in life and to cherish every chance she has to learn.
One might wonder, given her passion for social service, why she has chosen to become a teacher instead of a social worker. She explains, "Social service has allowed me to share the mishaps and problems of people around us. However I see even greater value in being a teacher, as teachers can help pre-empt the problems by educating children and adolescents during their formative years. I hope that through my efforts I can encourage and lead my students into social service. By joining hands together on a united front, I believe we can fulfil the wish for a better community."
