Education mirrors a society's level of sophistication and forms the bedrock of community development. This is why it is important to harness the enthusiasm of young people who may be considering teacher as a career. HKIEd surveys undertaken recently present teaching in a very favourable light. The 2004 Graduate Employment Survey demonstrates that teaching remains a preferred employment option for young people. The 2001, 2002 and 2003 Graduate Satisfaction Surveys indicate that the performance of HKIEd graduates is highly valued by school principals.
