Invitation and Call for Application for the International Summer School

Introduction
The International Summer School 2013 is an annual event hosted by the Department of Asian and Policy Studies, the Hong Kong Institute of Education. Our partner institutions this year include the Department of Social Work, National Taiwan University, College of Social Sciences, National Chengchi University, and the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Chulalongkorn University.

The School's theme of Comparative Social Policy in Asia highlights our ambition to enhance a comparative understanding of the social policy domain in Asia. It is also designed to bring together students from around the world and provide a platform for inter-cultural communication.

Scheduled from 2 to 22 July 2013, the School will engage you in a three-week study package taking place in Hong Kong, Macau and Bangkok. You will come across a series of lectures and discussion sessions delivered and led by renowned faculty from the Department of Asian and Policy Studies, the Hong Kong Institute of Education, the University of Macau, and Chulalongkorn University. An interactive, experiential approach to learning is adopted and you are expected to conduct group work with teammates from different nations. On top of classroom learning, our field visits would allow you an access to governmental departments, NGOs, private enterprises and local communities, whereas the city tours in Hong Kong, Macau and Bangkok focus on cultural and historical attractions.

Undergraduates from HKIEd and other local/overseas universities.
