To foster MA(GSE) students’ understanding of international education in the Greater Bay Area, Ms Giselle Lam and other IE administrative staff led the students to visit the Meisha Bilingual School on 29 March 2024. Founded in 2018, Meisha Bilingual School is a private bilingual junior high school that provides quality education for students in Grades 7, 8, and 9. Shortly after its establishment, it was officially a Cambridge school recognized by Cambridge Assessment International Education.
The day commenced with a warm welcome from the host, who provided a comprehensive introduction to their institution and the international school community in Shenzhen. A guided tour of the school campus was then arranged. During the lunch break, students also engaged with the teachers and gained tips on pursuing teaching careers in international schools. In addition to the meaningful conversations, the class observation in Grade 7 was indeed the highlight of the day. Students not only had an opportunity to observe an English lesson but also exchanged ideas on pedagogical principles in classroom teaching with the subject panel head.
Overall, the visit provided MA(GSE) students with invaluable insights into the sector of international schools in the Greater Bay Area and further enhanced their preparedness for a career in this field. We look forward to organizing similar events in the future to support the professional development of our students.
