From Farm to Table: Immersing in Poland's Agricultural and Horticultural Traditions

2025-06-02

We are excited to share that our study tour "From Farm to Table: Immersing in Poland's Agricultural and Horticultural Traditions," from 17 to 28 May 2025, was a great success. Fifteen students from The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) had an amazing learning experience that enriched their understanding of multiculturalism and global sustainability goals through Poland's agricultural and horticultural heritage.

The tour gave students a chance to see Poland's traditional farming methods, sustainable agricultural practices, and the cultural importance of food production up close. They visited rural areas and agricultural regions, explored farms and orchards, and took part in activities like cheese making, gingerbread baking, and tasting local produce. It was a hands-on way to learn about the processes that connect farming to the global food system.

One of the highlights was interacting with local farmers and agricultural experts in Poland, which provided valuable insights into how agriculture promotes sustainability, food security, and social equity. Students also had discussions with scholars from Nicolaus Copernicus University, which deepened their appreciation for Poland's agricultural practices and the influence of the European Union.
