Preparation for the Next RAE
Introduction
Following the submission of the results of Research Assessment Exercise 2020 (RAE) in May 2021, FLASS started an early preparation for the next RAE. FLASS has set up the RAE team to support colleagues to develop submissions for the next RAE.

The team's work included:

Identifying potential impact cases (ICs) through meetings and interviews with researchers

Setting out the FLASS Evidence Collection System to collect and store impact evidence

Developing tools for interviewing colleagues, collecting evidence, and evaluating the readiness of ICs.

Analysing the result of RAE 2020 and sharing the information with research colleagues

Facilitating the set up of the RAE Preparation Group (RAEPG)

Setting up and running a Hotline for RAE-related inquiries.

Document Set for Potential ICs Researchers
The team developed a set of documents for identified researchers to track the development of their ICs. The documents provide 4* sample cases from RAE and REF for researchers' reference. Researchers can also make use of the tools to collect impact evidence and evaluate the readiness of their ICs.
