BSc(EM) students accumulated valuable hands-on experience through an internship at Linksfield CPA Limited

2026-09-28

As an important component of undergraduate learning, internships continue to play a pivotal role in enhancing students’ hands-on experience and strengthening their professional preparation. To provide an authentic work environment that bridges the gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications, the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Executive Management Programme [BSc(EM)] continued its collaboration with Linksfield CPA Limited to offer a non-credit-bearing internship for students in May 2026. Four BSc(EM) students completed a meaningful internship at Linksfield CPA Limited, a corporate finance consultancy offering diverse services including accounting, auditing, commercial consulting, and IPO support, from 4 to 22 May 2026.

As part of their learning experience, students reviewed and verified clients’ accounting data and supporting documents to ensure accurate financial records under their mentors' meticulous guidance. They also developed a stronger awareness of the importance of completing bank confirmations with the utmost care and precision, realising that even minor errors could affect the accuracy and reliability of financial documentation. As executive roles often involve preparing grant proposals and monitoring project budgets, the data-verification skills and financial literacy gained during the internship would equip our students to plan, implement, and evaluate educational and related social projects effectively in their future careers. Another key feature of the internship was the valuable opportunity to conduct site visits and interact with clients together with their mentors. By engaging with clients under mentors' constructive guidance, students strengthened their communication and interaction skills as they learned to communicate professionally and respond appropriately in real workplace settings. These generic skills are beneficial for our future executives, as they often require managing relationships and communicating organisational initiatives effectively to diverse groups, stakeholders, and community partners.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Linksfield CPA Limited for its generous support in offering this valuable internship opportunity to BSc(EM) students. The programme highly values this partnership, which is instrumental in enhancing student learning by integrating academic knowledge with authentic workplace experience while fostering students’ professional growth and career readiness.
