Acting as the chairman of some NGOs and social enterprises, Mr. Johnson Lo delivered a resourceful talk for a class of B.Sc. (Executive Management) students on the budgeting issue of NGOs in Hong Kong on 29 Jan. 26. Being a Chartered marketer (with FCIM、MBA、CSDM qualifications), Johnson provided lots of practical funding examples in various types of NGOs, and pinpointed their common budgeting problems in Hong Kong. In authentic workplace contexts, he guided participating students to formulate some feasible solutions to resolve some typical under- and over-budgeted problems encountered in NGOs and social enterprises. Johnson also suggested some key points in the financing of NGOs in terms of good programme development and management techniques, highly related to the course module and students’ career development after graduation. Notably, Johonson gave some bonus points and important funding hints in successful bids for public funds in Hong Kong, related to students’ future workplace needs.
