BSc(EM) Alumni Sharing Session Inspires Future Leaders Through Public Service

2026-10-27

We are delighted to share inspiring insights from a recent alumni sharing session organised by the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Executive Management [BSc(EM)] programme. BSc(EM) alumnus of the Class of 2024, Mr Charson Lui Chun Sing, was invited to share his career journey with BSc(EM) Year 4 students in the course “21st Century Skills and Values Education” taught by Mr Justin Tse. Mr Charson Lui reflected on his public service career as a District Councillor Assistant, Care Team Member, and Regional Mentor for National Security Education. His sharing illustrated how public service aligns with 21st-century competencies and values education, emphasising that community work requires active listening, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving. Beyond technical skill, Mr Charson Lui stressed that impactful public service relies on integrity, accountability, and empathy to build public trust.

Mr Charson Lui’s journey across regional support, community welfare, and educational outreach provided a concrete bridge between academic theory and real-world execution. He also shared practical career tips to students on how to equip themselves to tackle future challenges. Through his experience, students gained valuable insights into analysing complex cases and navigating professional challenges. This session highlights the strength of our alumni network and the BSc(EM) programme’s commitment to preparing future leaders through civic awareness and practical learning.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr Charson Lui for giving back to the BSc(EM) community and inspiring our students. You can find out more about BSc(EM) programme here.
