The Education and Policy Leadership (EPL) welcomed a delegation from the Hong Kong Financial Services Institute (HKFSI) on 13 August 2026. Organised as part of HKFSI’s Advanced Executive Training Programme, the delegation comprised senior administrators from Deyang Vocational College of Technology and Trade in Sichuan. The visit provided participants with an opportunity to learn more about educational development in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as EdUHK’s academic strengths and contributions to the region. Dr Wang Chan and Dr Wu Siu Wai of EPL delivered a presentation entitled “Greater Bay Area Development: Policies, Initiatives, and EdUHK’s Engagement”. The presentation introduced key policies and initiatives under the GBA strategy, with particular attention to the positioning and innovation of education, teacher training, and the development of internationalised teacher education programmes. The speakers also introduced EPL’s academic priorities, teaching and research expertise, and contributions to educational development.
Through its interdisciplinary work in education policy, leadership, teacher education and related fields, EPL contributes to the advancement of educational practice and facilitates professional exchange across the Greater Bay Area. Conducted in Putonghua, the session facilitated meaningful professional exchange between EPL faculty members and the visiting senior administrators.
The visit concluded with a campus tour of the EdUHK Library and Museum, coordinated by colleagues from the Global Affairs Office. The visit strengthened connections between EdUHK and HKFSI and enhanced the delegation’s understanding of EPL’s work and EdUHK’s contributions to educational innovation and collaboration in the Greater Bay Area.
