The Department of Education Policy and Leadership (EPL) is delighted to share that the Inauguration Ceremony of its Departmental Student Association was successfully held on 8 May 2026. The occasion marked the official launch of Celestial, a newly elected student association to serve the EPL student community and celebrate student leadership within the Department.
Three academic staff members, Dr Ewan Wright, Dr Maxwell Ho and Dr Miron Bhowmik, attended the ceremony to join in this meaningful occasion and show their support for the newly elected student members. During the event, Dr Maxwell Ho and Dr Miron Bhowmik delivered encouraging and insightful speeches, recognising the students’ commitment and dedication. They commended the members for their enthusiasm and encouraged them to work together to support their peers, foster an inclusive student community, enrich campus life, and explore opportunities for wider community engagement. Our academic staff members' presence and encouragement added great significance to the ceremony and made the occasion especially inspiring and memorable for all participants.
Celestial is formed by 11 student members from the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Executive Management programme. As a newly elected student association, Celestial will play an important role in promoting student participation, and contributing positively to both campus life and the wider community. The Department looks forward to seeing Celestial’s future initiatives and the positive impact the association will make through its creativity, teamwork and commitment to service.
