Leadership Forum Empowers Newly Appointed Principals to Navigate Uncertainty and Build Resilience

2026-06-15

As an essential component of the Professional Development Programme for Newly Appointed Principals, the Leadership Forum was successfully held on 13 May at Salesians of Don Bosco Ng Siu Mui Secondary School.

Bringing together 90 Newly Appointed Principals (NAPs), the seminar focused on equipping school leaders with practical insights for leading effectively amid today’s rapidly changing environment. Through a structured sharing format, participants explored how leaders can navigate uncertainty, respond effectively to crises, and sustain organisational resilience when schools face new challenges and evolving demands.

The forum was coordinated by Dr Ho Maxwell and featured two distinguished speakers: Mr T. K. Chiang, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of CLP Holdings Limited, and Ms Arling Ng, President of Parsons Music Corporation. Drawing on his extensive leadership experience, Mr Chiang inspired participants by demonstrating how to meet crises with calm clarity, manage operational risks, and build enduring resilience through informed decision-making and steady execution. His sharing offered valuable perspectives on how leadership under pressure can strengthen both staff confidence and organisational capability. Complementing Mr Chiang’s session, Ms Ng and her team shared how to build trust and team cohesion from within. They highlighted the importance of communication, collaboration, and supportive culture—elements that help teams stay aligned and resilient even when circumstances change quickly. Their insights resonated strongly with the principals and encouraged meaningful reflection on leadership practices in school settings.

After the speakers’ sharing, Dr Ho Maxwell concluded the forum by synthesising key takeaways and linking them directly to the realities of school leadership, leaving the participants deeply inspired and ready to translate these lessons into action.
