GLEF Study Tour: “Exploring Literacies, Cultures, and Environmental Sustainability in the UK

2026-01-12

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of our recent GLEF study tour “Exploring Literacies, Cultures, and Environmental Sustainability in the UK”, held from December 13 to 24, 2025. Led by Lecturer Ms. Lam Tin Miu Giselle, this 12-day educational journey brought together 20 undergraduate students from The Education University of Hong Kong to explore themes across the UK.

The tour’s primary objectives centred on deepening students’ understanding of British literary and cultural heritage, while also fostering awareness of sustainable practices within historical and natural sites. Over the course of the trip, students visited renowned landmarks including Cambridge University, Oxford University, Bath and London. Highlights included exploring Cambridge’s historic colleges, following in the footsteps of literary giants like Xu Zhimo, and experiencing traditional punting. At Oxford, students visited Christ Church, a filming location for Harry Potter, and the historic Bodleian Library. The visit to London leg featured a captivating performance of Opera and a rich exploration of the British Museum.

The tour culminated in visits to the iconic Stonehenge and Bath, where students studied the historical significance of these sites.

This successful event not only enhanced students’ academic and cultural knowledge but also strengthened international understanding and collaboration. We are proud of this achievement and look forward to organizing more impactful educational exchanges in the future.
