About CoolThink@JC

CoolThink@JC is created and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, and co-created by The Education University of Hong Kong, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and City University of Hong Kong. CoolThink@JC aims at inspiring students to apply digital creativity in their daily lives and preparing them to tackle future challenges in any fields. Promoting computational thinking (CT) education can move students beyond mere technology consumption and into problem-solving, creation and innovation. This 4-year initiative will train 100 teachers for the benefit of 16,500 upper primary students at 32 schools. Insights and curricular materials from this initiative will be shared openly with educators across the territory.

About CTE2019

International Conference on Computational Thinking Education 2019 (CTE2019) is the third international conference organized by the CoolThink@JC Programme for worldwide sharing of ideas as well as dissemination of findings and outcomes on the implementation of computational thinking development. CTE2019 will comprise keynote speeches, invited speeches, panel discussions, workshop and paper presentations. All the accepted papers in the conference will be published in ISBN-coded proceedings.

Last year, the conference was held together with a Coding Fair to further outreach parents and students. The 4-day fair successfully drew over 4500 participants to the Coding and STEM workshops, parent seminars and exhibition booths. This year, a 4-day Coding Fair will be organized along with CTE2019 to welcome enthusiastic parents and students at the journey of computational thinking enlightenment.
