Title of Keynote
Supporting Children with Language, Literacy, and Social-Emotional Challenges: Insights and Effective Strategie
Abstract of Keynote
Embracing diversity and promoting inclusion—especially in the early years—is essential for creating a positive environment that supports children at risk of language and literacy difficulties in Chinese language, as well as those with social-emotional challenges. In this conference, Kevin will first explore the cognitive, linguistic, and affective factors that contribute to individual differences among young children with diverse needs. He will then examine the multifaceted processes shaping children’s learning and development in school settings. Kevin will also share practical examples of how practitioners can target school and family processes to drive systemic change. These efforts aim to engage teachers and parents in collaborative initiatives that empower children with language and literacy skills, as well as those with social-emotional challenges, to reduce obstacles and reach their full potential. |
