Abstract

According to a quick change of knowledge and the focus on lifelong learning, education for sustainable development aims for acquiring competencies to be able to form the future actively and independently. However, the requirements with regard to the internationally accepted model of sustainable development and an education for sustainable development are extremely high. Thus, the basic model of sustainable development is to be completed by the political dimension, whereas general pedagogical models of competencies for an education for sustainable development are to be referred to political facts. Accordingly, these modifications can be specified in political-democratic civil competencies.
