關於我:

Hi, my name is Matt, and I am from the city of Durban in South Africa. I have a master's degree in fine arts, and I have lived in South Africa, South Korea and, recently, I relocated to Hong Kong.

Helping people to think and become better learners is a passion of mine. Because of this passion, I tutored Fine Arts students from 2017 to 2019 in South Africa and then taught English from 2021 to 2025 in South Korea. Now, I am here in Hong Kong, at EdUHK, tutoring students once again. I have been living abroad since 2021 and so I am always learning, thinking and trying to understand the world around me. In 2020, I earned my Masters degree in Fine Arts and so, I have a keen interest in discussing and critiquing the visual world and the implications of what artists do and think about when creating their works. This then flows into my artistic skills, and my strong skills as both a writer and editor. Also, I have a large repertoire of discussion topics so I can chat with most people about something from modern technology to AI, traditional printmaking techniques to painting skills, guitars to jazz, cars to gaming culture and so much more. And so, if you find something you are interested in, I am most likely able to engage with you in a chat about that.

I look forward to meeting and engaging with the student body here at EdUHK.

關於我:

Hello! I’m Naomi and I’m from the culturally diverse and vibrant country of Zimbabwe🇿🇼, where we take dancing, laughing and having a good time seriously. I’m fluent in English and Shona, and I also speak a little bit of Mandarin and French! Huge fan of all things fashion, design/art, music, food and just romanticising life in general. Oh, and I do love a good fun fact! If I’m not designing and creating clothes, dancing up a storm or enjoying a good meal, you’ll likely find me engrossed in a 3hr documentary, or all of these at once - there are no rules and I embrace spontaneity!
When I’m not home, I’m definitely out and about, exploring Hong Kong with my trusty sidekick, Google Maps, fighting off the humidity with my tiny fan.
I adore sharing my culture and learning about others’ cultures and experiences as I believe there’s so much to learn from meeting new people. I would love to hear your story. You can pop in for a small chat…or a long one :)! I look forward to connecting with you soon!

關於我:

The root of powerful growth paradoxically begins with just a tiny smidgen of an idea; A seed of thought that we plant into the soils of our mind. Water it with faith, bathe it in the illumination of hope, and tend to it consistently with hard work and Voilà – A great towering tree erupts. The origin of change comes from the belief in yourself. Whatever you set your mind to, it will always find its way into your life. You are the author of your own life: Write with passion and fervor. Aside from writing your own novel, no story is complete without the red tie that binds us together: Connection. While we meet people from all walks of life in the most unexpected ways, another way we can meet the whisper of another soul, or the outline of a city long gone is through texts – novels. Serving as portals, novels present the ability to transport us from one period to another. Living a million lives through narratives, I find that I can examine human culture, tradition, and history. Poetry in motion, film also serves as a wonderous text that I can harp on about. Everyone has a story to tell – I would be honored to hear yours!

關於我:

Hello! I’m Michelle, and I’m thrilled to be part of the CLE team. My academic background is in Philosophy, which has taught me to think deeply and appreciate different perspectives. Outside of work, I’m a curious soul who loves discovering new things—whether it’s through books, comics, or conversations with interesting people.

I’m passionate about reading and exploring stories, from classic literature to comics and anime (I’m a big fan of Hunter x Hunter and superheroes!). When I’m not immersed in a good story, you’ll probably find me watching films or sitcoms like Modern Family or simply enjoying time with friends and family. Fun fact: my sister lives in Japan, so I always have an excuse to visit!

I believe learning English should be enjoyable and empowering, and I’m here to support you in any way I can. If you’d like to chat about language, culture, or even swap book and movie recommendations, feel free to drop by—I’d love to meet you!

關於我:

Hey there!

I’m Jocelyn, originally from mainland China. The decision to pursue my undergraduate and master’s degrees abroad has made me bilingual in Mandarin and English, and I’ve developed a keen interest in diverse cultures along the way.

I love watching movies, especially horror movies, and I find joy in exploring the world. I’ve visited 10 countries-North Korea is one of the most unique experiences. It’s always fascinating to immerse myself in different environments and perspectives.

I’m a big fan of casual chats and love hearing about people’s stories. So, feel free to drop by and share a bit of your journey with me. Let’s have a conversation – I’m eager to get to know your story!
