Professor Tian Ming SHEU

Tian Ming Sheu is Professor of Educational Policy and Administration, Dean of the College of Education and Director of the Center for Educational Research and Evaluation at the National Taiwan Normal University. Previously, he served in various capacities at the National Taiwan Normal University, as Head of Department of Education, Director of Graduate Institute of Educational Policy and Administration and Graduate Institute of Curriculum and Instruction. He earned his B.A. in 1983 at National Taiwan University, his Ed.D. in 1993 at Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to joining the National Taiwan Normal University in 2006, he was a faculty member of the National Hualien Teachers College for 12 years, where he served as Director of Graduate Institute of Education and Graduate Institute of Multicultural Education. Professor Sheu is the author of The New School Finance (2003); and School-Based Management: Theory and Practice (2002) (co-edited with P. C. Chen), in addition to numerous articles in scholarly journals. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Contemporary Educational Research Quarterly and serves as an Editorial Board member for the Journal of Education & Psychology and the National Taitung University Educational Research Journal. He consults widely on matters related to teacher compensation, school finance, school-based management, indigenous education and the reform of disadvantaged schools. Professor Sheu is a Past President of the China Education Society.
