Introduction

We are pleased to announce that the Asia Pacific Centre for Leadership and Change (APCLC) of The Hong Kong Institute of Education and the Institute for Research on Educational Development (IRED) co-host the Asia Leadership Roundtable 2012 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on March 11-13, 2012.

Purpose

The purpose of the Asia Leadership Roundtable 2012 is to bring together regional and global education scholars and practitioners to discuss research and development trends on the theme of “Leadership and Learning in Asia Pacific: Challenges for Research and Practice.”

Format


The meeting format will emphasize interaction. Participation is by-invitation-only, and limited to 60 scholars, training managers, policymakers, and principals from 13 countries in the region and beyond.

Goals


Our goals for the Roundtable 2012 are to:
  • Share research findings related to instructional leadership globally and in East Asia;
  • Highlight perspectives from researchers, policymakers and school leaders on the exercise and development of instructional leadership in primary-secondary schools and higher education;
  • Share methods of studying instructional leadership;
  • Highlight policy tools being used to foster instructional leadership.
