Procedures to install the WuBi IME: (For OCIO-managed PC only)
- In order to enable your Windows XP to use WuBi (Five-Pen) input method, you can run it from the "Network Teaching Software (NI)"
- First click the NI icon to lunch the "Network Teaching Software " then choose "五筆輸入法 for XP"
- When the installation completed, click "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Control Panel"
- Choose "Regional and Language Options" by double click.
- Change to the "Languages" tab then click "Details" button.
- Click "Add" button.
- Choose "Chinese (PRC)" from the Input language option.
- Check the "Keyboard layout/IME" box then choose "Chinese (Simplified) - WuBi86" and click "OK"
- Click "OK to complete the IME Settings.
- Open your word processing software. Then change the IME to Chinese from the language bar.
- Then switch the input method to WuBi.
- Now you can use the WuBi (Five-Pen) IME.
Procedures to install the WuBi IME: (For other PCs)
- In order to enable your Windows XP to use WuBi(Five-Pen) input method, you need to install the Microsoft Office XP Simplified Chinese MUI (Multi User Interface) to your system (Staff can borrow it from our Loan Counter).
- Insert the setup CD into your CD-ROM drive.
- Then the Office MUI setup will start automatically. (if it do not start automatically, browse the CD and run the file "Lpksetup.exe".
- When the "End-User License Agreement" shown, check the box "I accept the terms in the License Agreement" and click "Next"
- Tick the box "Chinese (Simplified)" and click "Next".
- Select "Auto Select" for the display language option and click "Next"
- Then choose the option "Complete" and click "Install".
- When the installation finished, restart the system.
- To use the Five-Pen IME to type Simplified Chinese. First change the IME to Chinese from the language bar.
- Then switch the input method to WuBi.
- Now you can use the WuBi (Five-Pen) IME.
