Citizenship and Social Development (CSD)

(The CSD Minor will take effect from Semester I of 2021/22 and be offered to cohorts of 2017-2022, 2018-2023, 2019-2024, 2020-2025 of five-year programmes and 2018-2022, 2019-2023, 2020-2024 of four-year programmes only).

The Citizenship and Social Development Minor is designed to (1) enhance the knowledge and understanding about the new learning elements, learning focus and curriculum of the senior secondary Citizenship and Social Development subject; (2) equip students with the pedagogical skills to teach this subject and organize experiential learning; and (3) enable students to integrate their understanding about social development in Hong Kong SAR, China, and the contemporary world.

Upon completion of studying in this Minor, students shall be able to:

  • demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of new learning elements, learning focus and curriculum of Citizenship and Social Development;
  • apply pedagogical skills to teach Citizenship and Social Development and organize experiential learning;
  • integrate different domains of knowledge and pedagogical skills in teaching Citizenship and Social Development

The above course intended learning outcomes shall be further revised subject to having more detailed information about Citizenship and Social Development announced by the Education Bureau.

Remark:
Students can take the minor core plus any four courses of the above to claim the Citizenship and Social Development Minor.

Please note that students admitted from 2021/22 cannot claim the CSD  Minor.
