更多在亞洲，普遍的育兒觀念認為「小朋友宜專心讀書，金錢並非他們應該煩惱的事」。然而，在今天通脹上升，退休、醫療制度不勝負荷的環境下，不少國家的政府開始改變固有想法。 2021年，日本文部科學省重新制定《學習指導要領》，在中學的家政課與公民課中加入理財教育，包括金融商品的介紹、特徵以及操作方式等，希望藉此及早讓學生從小就學習理財觀念，在日本經濟持續「失落」的時代，似乎更有必要了。
