Dr LI Yu Wai Vic
Vic is associate professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the Education University of Hong Kong. He holds a PhD in Global Governance from the Balsillie School of International Affairs, Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada.
A Specialist in international political economy, he researches politics of China's financial opening and currency internationalization, and post-subprime crisis political dynamics of financial regulation in East Asia economies. He has also published on China's evironmental governance. His articles appear in China Quarterly, Journal of Contemporary Asia, Asian Survey, among others.
He completed a Early Career Scheme (ECS) project on the roles of local authorities in Chinese financial liberalization in 2017, and is the author of China's Financial Opening: Coalition Politics and Policy Changes (Routledge 2018).
