Funding Source: General Research Fund, Research Grant Council, Hong Kong
Project Team Member: Dr CHAN Kit Wa Anita
This research explores the experiences and identities of a particular generation of older women, who were born between 1940 and 1955. It describes life experiences and subjective evaluation of Hong Kong older women in contemporary Hong Kong. It explores how Hong Kong women react, position, and perform subjectivities in relation to life stage changes, role changes, and their present lived experiences. It also documents the diversity of older women’s present everyday lives and explores how older women perform subjectivities differently as part of the material discursive-structural forces. The project uses the methods of life-history interviews and ‘embodied engagement’.
