Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation

INTRODUCTION

The Minor in Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation focuses on most recent innovation and technology in business as well as the latest development of information technology. It is designed for students of different disciplinary and learning backgrounds, so that they can critically select new technologies. Students are also trained with necessary competencies in knowledge and skills to set up and run their own business. Creativity and business innovation are emphasized in this minor in order to develop attributes of entrepreneurship. Developing entrepreneurship among students does not simply aim at teaching them to start or run a new business. It focuses on developing positive values and attitudes, generic skills and knowledge which enable students to stay positive in uncertainties, as well as identify and realize the opportunities.

Learning Outcomes

After completing this Minor, students should be able to 
(a)    demonstrate a solid understanding and command of the core concepts of entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation in a multi-cultural perspectives;
(b)    recognize knowledge and skills on the latest development on innovation and technology of business in local, regional and global context;
(c)    apply creative and critical thinking to solve business problems with ethical consideration; and 
(d)    exhibit the knowledge and practical skills in running a small business especially related to a start-up business.
