iHostel Application for Student Accommodation 2020/21 for New UGC-funded Full-time Undergraduate, Postgraduate Diploma in Education Programmes and Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education Students
Considering the University has announced that online mode of learning and teaching will be adopted for Semester 1 of 2020/21, and there is an urgent need to minimize the human flow in the student halls for prevention of COVID-19 infection, students are not encouraged to apply for Semester 1 hall residence unless with genuine academic needs for on-campus accommodation. All non-local students currently away from Hong Kong should not enter into the territory in Semester 1 of 2020/21 unless instructed by the relevant academic departments / offices of the University.
If you have a genuine need for on-campus accommodation, you may access to the iHostel System (https://pappl01.eduhk.hk/iHostel/) to apply for hall residence during the application period, which will last from 00:00, 18 August 2020 (Tuesday) to 23:59, 21 August 2020 (Friday). Please read carefully the “Guidelines on Application for Student Accommodations 2020/21” available at the website of the Hall Management Section (https://www.eduhk.hk/sh/) before submitting iHostel applications.
The application result will be announced on 28 August 2020 (Friday) via email. The mass check-in period will be from 14:00 on 4 September 2020 (Friday) to 17:00 on 6 September 2020 (Sunday).
All student-residents returning from other countries or regions should complete the 14-day compulsory quarantine outside the campus before check-in to the student halls.
Non-local students who are currently away from Hong Kong but instructed by the relevant departments / offices of the University to be physically in Hong Kong for academic needs in Semester 1 of 2020/21 will be eligible for applying for an one-off quarantine allowance provided by the University. The eligible students will be notified by the Student Advising Team (SAT) of the Student Affairs Office in due course for the application details. Please stay tuned to the email announcements sent by the relevant departments/offices.
