The 5th International Dialogue and Public Research Seminar was held on 25 November 2022. The theme was “Supporting Students with Dyscalculia at Schools”. Dr Ilse Smits, a lecturer from the Thomas More University of Applied Sciences in Belgium, who specializes in guiding and supporting young people with dyscalculia, provided her perspective on recognizing different dyscalculia symptoms and accommodating children with dyscalculia through interventions. She also shared different effective learning practices for primary school student with dyscalculia.
After the presentation, colleagues were encouraged to comment and raise questions. Through interactions and idea exchange with Dr Smits, colleagues had gained useful insight to enhance the wellbeing of students with SENs in their respective fields.
