2015–16 Move for Good – Turn Sweat into Food

Move For Good encouraged participants to exercise their caring and love for society through doing physical exercise, and practice such behaviour in the daily routine. During 1 to 21 March, the daily footsteps of participants were converted into rice by assembles the energy (Calories) burnt during exercising. CSL Mobile Limited sponsored 500 Mi Bands to facilitate the calories recording process.

Over 400 students participated in the kick-off ceremony on 1 March. A series of noontime sports such as table tennis, shuttlecock, High-Intensity Training and campus run, were organised along with a health talk conducted by the Department of Health and Physical Education. Thirty participating students and staff paid home visits and delivered resources to 50 elders on 27 February.

The rice accumulated was donated to the deprived clients via three food assistance agents, namely Food Grace, People’s Food Bank of St. James Settlement, and Pei Ho Barbecue Restaurant. Around HK$35,000 participation fee was collected from students, staff and alumni, and around 3 million calories were accumulated by the end of the programme. In the end, 3,500 kilograms of rice were purchased for donation.
