Home > Student Services > Examples of Accommodation for Students with SEN in EdUHK

Reasonable accommodations are provided to our students which aim to provide an alternative way to accomplish the course requirements by eliminating or reducing disability-related barriers. They provide a level playing field, not an unfair advantage.

The following are examples of some common characteristics and accommodations for students with different types of SEN. All accommodations are provided with concerted efforts of the Registry, Academic Faculties and Departments, Estates Office, Library and Student Affairs Office and other supporting units.

The level of support will be provided with considering the severity of students’ impairment on an individual basis:

  1. Hearing Impairment
  2. Visual impairment
  3. Physical Disability
  4. Speech Impairment
  5. Chronic illness
  6. Mental illness
  7. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  8. Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD)
  9. Specific Learning Disabilities (Dyslexia)
