Dear all,
To fill the gap between proof of concept and practical models of social innovation initiatives in EdUHK, the KT Sub-office of Research & Development Office (RDO) launches the “Fund for Innovation, Technology, and Social-wellbeing” (FITS) scheme. FITS is supported by The Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund (SIE Fund) of HKSAR to support applied research projects for tackling poverty and social exclusive to identify social issues in Hong Kong and facilitate the formulation of strategies to make practical and sustainable solutions.
The applied research projects of FITS must be under one of the following categories related to local social issues: 1) Education; 2) Public Health; 3) Art and Culture or 4) Social Reconstruction. The project period will be 12 to 24 months and the fund ceiling is HKD$400,000 per project.
The projects should be community-based which have to consist of at least one external partner, such as government units, organisations, schools, associations, and social enterprises, who will contribute to the research & development and be willing to bring the new social innovation initiatives to the community. Each project has to develop a research prototype (tangible or intangible) or conduct a community trial / pilot program to help the direct beneficiaries during the funding period.
