The University actively contributes to education development through its applied research and knowledge transfer (KT) as services to the community and the profession. The University adopts KT as its third pillar in the university development in addition to teaching and research. In this context, KT at the University is defined as the two-way flow of academic and professional knowledge, ideas, techniques, and expertise between the University and the broader community in education and related areas.
The management and organization of KT activities at the University are underpinned by the following key aims:
- To link the University’s research and teaching activities more closely to KT.
- To develop intellectual capacity and capital that contribute to the development of the University and the wider community.
- To serve the needs of educational development locally and regionally.
At the current stage of its development, the University gives priority to those KT activities that:
- have long-lasting impacts on the profession and the community in education and related areas;
- are directly relevant to the research capacity building of the University and its staff; and
- have (or can build up) strong partnerships and collaborative networks with key stakeholders.
