Dr Hou Wai Kai elected APS Fellow

2022-02-17

Dr Hou Wai Kai has been elected a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science (APS) for his outstanding contributions to the science of psychology.

Dr Hou’s research seeks to explicate the psychology and ecology of stress. His work focuses on understanding the everyday processes and mechanisms of resilience, social and physical environmental determinants, and public mental health. As the Director of Centre for Psychosocial Health (CPH), he and his team have developed cutting-edge research programmes that enhance the community’s awareness and knowledge of the psychosocial aspects of health.

“I feel very honoured to be elected as one of the APS Fellows. This would not have been possible without the support of the University, the Faculty, the CPH, and the PS department. I will keep on fostering health, well-being, and resilience through research and evidence-based practice,” he said.

APS is the global scientific home of more than 25,000 leading psychological science researchers, practitioners, teachers, and students across all continents, with the aims to developing psychological science through interaction with other sciences and contributing to scientific advances in other fields.
