PS staff retreat for the academic year of 2019/20 was held on 26 July 2019. Dr Chan Ka Shing Kevin, the Acting Head of the Department, chaired the departmental meeting in the morning session. To start with, updates on learning and teaching, BSocSc(Psy) and MSocScP(SCS) Programmes were shared by the DLTC chair and Programme Coordinators. Research cluster representatives shared their ongoing projects, research collaborations, and future plans with all the colleagues. On one hand, congratulations were given to a number of colleagues – we had 4 grant winners, 7 award winners, 2 colleagues promoted to Associate Professor, and 1 colleague got superannuation. On the other hand, it was time for us to say goodbye to our Head, Prof Wong Wing Sze. We thanked her for her leadership and all she had contributed to our department, and wished her all the best in the future. Last but not least, to prepare for the Departmental Review and Benchmarking Exercise 2019/20, Dr Cheng Wing Yi Rebecca guided colleagues into group discussion about the future prospects of the department.
After the departmental meeting, all of the staff actively participated in the afternoon session for activities and games and enjoyed a great time at the sport park!
