Press Conference of Life Education and Citizen Science through Tree Protection and Conservation project

To contribute to the greening and re-greening of Hong Kong, raise public awareness of tree conservation, and promote the importance of Life Education, The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) will hold a press conference to announce the commencement of a two-year project, titled Life Education and Citizen Science through Tree Protection and Conservation, next Monday (24 June). You or your representatives are cordially invited to cover the event.

 

The press conference will be hosted by Project Co-Leader Professor John Lee Chi-kin, Director of the Centre for Religious and Spirituality Education and UNESCO Chair in Regional Education Development and Lifelong Learning, who will introduce the purpose and context of the project; and Professor Jim Chi-yung, Research Chair Professor in the Department of Social Sciences, who will share his research findings on trees damaged by Typhoon Mangkhut and explore some of the challenges to tree protection and conservation resulting from climate change.

 

Project Honorary Advisor Mr Leung Wing-mo, Former Assistant Director of the Hong Kong Observatory, will also join the press conference and share his professional views on extreme climate. Other details are as follows:
