The 2nd Undergraduate Academic Conference on Humanities
The 2nd Undergraduate Academic Conference on Humanities (UAC), an academic event sponsored by the Faculty of Humanities, co-organised by the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Language Studies Programme and the Research Centre for Chinese Literature and Literary Culture (RCCLLC), will be held on 15 June 2018.
The UAC provides a platform of academic exchange for local and overseas undergraduates. It aims to foster young talents in humanities research. Apart from EdUHK students, there are representatives from almost all major universities in Hong Kong and Taiwan (including HKU, CUHK, HKBU, HKUST, NTU, NTHU, and more) joining the conference. They will present original papers and discuss with their peers and teachers in different panels. It is something new in the sense that while research seminars for scholars and teachers are quite common, the UAC should be the only large-scale academic conference for undergraduates ever held in Hong Kong.
This one-day event includes opening ceremony, keynote speech, panel discussions, closing ceremony and presentation of best-paper award. Professor Tong Ho Kin, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, will deliver a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony, and Professor Stephen Y. W. Chu, Programme Director of Hong Kong Studies of the University of Hong Kong, will be the keynote speaker.
