EdUHK Student Shek Wai-hung Scoops Two World Cup Gym Golds

Following his first victory in the vault at the World Challenge Cup Competition, held earlier in Osijek, Croatia, Shek Wai-hung, a Year 3 student in the Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) programme at The Education University of Hong Kong, recently won his second gold medal in the same competition at the Slovenia stop.

During the competition, held from 25 to 26 May in Croatia, Shek performed a new routine in the vault, receiving 14.734 points to top the final standings in the world-class competition. At the recent stop in Slovenia, he claimed the championship title once again, performing the same routine and receiving a score of 14.675.

With his enthusiasm, persistence and continued effort, Shek overcame an injury and put on an incredible performance in spite of the stressful environment. His dedication and determination over the past 10 years has paid off handsomely with international recognition, fully demonstrating the sportsmanship and spirit of athletes in Hong Kong.
